Dedicated to the memory of Jago Jude Cole

Our beautiful boy gained his angel wings on 30/11/24. Our hearts are broken and we miss him more than words can say, but we feel so privileged that we got to be his parents. He was such a brave, strong and special little boy who left an everlasting mark on our hearts and everyone that met him.

We would like to celebrate his life by supporting Helen & Douglas House in his memory. This wonderful place took such beautiful care of Jago during his short life and at the end, and we are so very grateful. Nothing we say or do will ever be enough to thank the whole team at HH, but we hope that by fundraising in Jago's memory we can help other families that need them. Having a child with complex medical needs and life limiting conditions can be a very isolating and scary journey, but having the support of Helen House meant we were never alone.

We have already raised roughly £15,000 from fundraising, Daryl and Team Jago climbed the 3 peaks in August 2024, and this money will go towards funding supportive stays for other families. These short breaks help parents to manage their child’s symptoms, give them the chance to be Mum and Dad rather than carers for a few days, and help them create happy memories as a family. This is invaluable.

Going forward we would like to use donations in memory of Jago to buy new dining room furniture and sofas for Helen & Douglas House. The dining area is the heart of the house, where families, children and staff come together to eat and chat. The sofas will be placed in the lovely conservatory we used many times during our visits, and we love the thought of other families and staff using them too.

Our goal is to raise another £5,000 to fund this and support the place that made the biggest difference in our life at the most difficult of times. Thank you for helping us to make that happen, we cannot think of a better way to honour Jago's memory.

Gemma & Daryl x
